All other scripture taken from the King James Version, unless otherwise noted.

In the Bible New Testament, after the testimonies of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John is the book of ACTS. Often thought of as acts of the apostles, the Greek word used for the word acts is Praxeis which is given for great feats of great men. But one view of acts is that it served to stimulate the word of God as the persecution of Christians by the Jewish authorities caused the believers to scatter wide and broad.

Acts: Thought  to have been written by Luke and generally accepted as such since the gospel of Luke was addressed to Governor Theophilus, as is acts. ( see Acts 1:3)

In the book of Acts we discover the little known teaching of Jesus called the “Way.” Paul, once known as Saul, was seen to persecute the Christians who followed the teaching of Jesus, called the “Way”.

“Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest and asked for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take then as prisoners to Jerusalem.”  (Acts 9:1-2 niv)

If you have read other of my articles of sharing, You may have heard me talk about this, “Hidden Wisdom” called the ‘Way’, well that’s the main point I’m sharing! If  “We Christians” are ever going to communicate as Christians we are going to have to learn to know what is talked about in common to Christians.

Now I’m not talking about the Life Death and Resurrection of Jesus, or Sounding like an Evangelist.  And I’m definitely not trying to brain-wash you into an autonomous android; but you must read…
“I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.” (I Cor. 1:10 niv )
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life!!! In person, as revealed in the Holy Spirit to those who walk in his Way, so that they may come to where he goes to be with our Father.

The disciples were assured by Jesus that …“the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” (John 14: 23-26 niv)

It is His Mind, His emotion that we are to be united with perfectly.

Now when we read this verse in its entirety we can see that the words were the words of the Father and that they would be ‘Remind’ed to us in the Spirit. And most importantly in these verses we see the importance of our Moving to obey his teaching, so that the Holy Spirit can be enabled to teach us all things, and … “Bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14: 26 KJV) (I like the way this version says the Holy Spirits revelation is something that we remember in scripture tied to our personal experience through a ‘remembrance‘.) But don’t forget our need for Moving to obey his teaching.

And of our need for reading the New Testament Gospel. The Words are Truth and they were from the Father and delivered in the speech given unto us by his only begotten Son Jesus.

Word by powerful Word, Jesus spoke them for the Father for our mutual benefit. And the ‘spiritual’ quality of the Word becomes apparent when they are brought into ‘remembrance’ through the Spirit; and “acknowledged” by us as being True, applies to everyone equally and does no harm to our neighbor. (II Tim. 2:24-26 KJV)  Then, once acknowledged and seen in Truth of Love we are given the chance for choice being given to choose whom we will follow. From there we are given to abide by our decision of submitting to the ‘Way’ of our remembered scripture reference until our transformation is completed step by step, with the final step a total transformation in the blink of the eye.

These steps of “remembered” truth and loving alternatives submitted to in the Way of Jesus is seen of God, our Father as one with us through Jesus.

Let me say that again! These steps of “remembered” Truth and LOVING alternatives submitted to in the Way of Jesus is seen of God, our Father as one with us through Jesus.

This Love ‘revealed’ in ‘discernment’ of Spirit kicked ‘remembrance’ of scriptural Words given to us in the Bible New Testament and Old, is part and parcel to our foundation to believe by faith. For “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through Love.” (Gal. 5:6 niv)

Then, while on his way to Damascus, Paul was blinded by Jesus and given to know that it was Jesus who was being persecuted in his followers of the Way. (Acts 9:5)

After Paul’s encounter with Jesus HE was led into town as a blind man. An infliction of the Lord that was given to him so that Jesus was able to remove it by the prayer of a follower of the Way. A disciple sent by the Lord and expected by Saul, whom I’ve been calling Paul, because he was told by the Lord, “In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.” (Acts 9:12 niv)

Paul was to become a servant of the Lord and a teacher of the Way of Jesus. “A work which you will by no means believe, though one were to declare it to you.”

The Way Jesus walked and talked, became the Way the Apostles walked and talked, became the Way Paul walked and talked. And the Way we are to walk and talk also.

Which is why we need prophets to open our eyes to the understanding of scriptures roadmap of the ‘Way’ of Jesus. Why Paul declared he’d rather be gifted to prophecy than speak in tongues unless he had the gift also to be able to interpret tongues. (I Cor. 14:18)

Not everyone will believe, “but spoke evil of the Way.” and many caused commotion about the Way because they earned their living making idols of the gods that others believed in and bought until they began turning away from the false gods to seek the one True God.

Because of the lack of believers in the groups of people who heard the Word, with the idol merchants prevalent bad mouthing of the Way, the disgruntled masses were added to, and they were easily swayed in masse by fear in the fore-telling of retribution from the gods. And like any frightened and angry crowd they turned to persecute Paul.

Paul was now persecuted by the same masses that he had supported in the persecution and stoning of Stephen, a disciple of Jesus who was filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the condemnation of the chosen who choose to not believe in Jesus as the Messiah.

Paul too would have been stoned to death had he not been rescued by some Roman soldiers who stepped in to arrest Paul as a rabble-rouser, but soon saw that the commotion was over religious differences and that Paul was a Roman citizen. Still, Paul was arrested.

A safe way for the Roman soldiers leader to rescue Paul from certain death, and so that the commander can pass the buck on what to do with Paul to the Governor Felix.

Governor Felix was a married man, married to a Jewish woman called Drusilla; and as such he was a man familiar with some knowledge of the Way. And would be able to judge Paul for himself.

Paul was more than happy to confess before Felix, “ I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets” (Acts 24:14 NKJV)

According to the Way, Paul worships God and believes in Jesus…

I want You to see this!!! According to the Way Paul worships God and believes in Jesus. This is NOT saying that he believes because that is the gospel good news…,that we must believe because we are told to believe in Jesus and that if we do so we are doing so ACCORDING to the Way? NO!! but we say we believe because ACCORDING to the gospel we are to believe in Jesus. The Way doesn’t tell us to believe in Jesus.

The Way is an instruction of how to repent correctly. And when we repent correctly, keeping within the scriptures guideline, then we will, with the help of the Holy Spirit, find the Truth in relation to our questioning and SEE the Loving alternative to submit to until it transforms us. Just like you would repeat something until it became a way of habit; only here the habit has understanding.

Some of the sin’s reason for being is easy to see, whether it be a worry, riches and/or a pleasure, whether it is impatience, mean spirited, or envious; or boasting, or proud, selfish, easily angered, evil, or delights in evil.

But the change of character has to reach deep and eradicate the deep seated personality that covers the Way of Love. And that takes time because there are many Truths you are needing to find in yourself. Are you boasting about something? Are you envious? Why!

Finding out that you are acting like some Brute, being selfish, easily angered, laughing over someone eases hurt…is hard to face. Call it pride or call it sin, it doesn’t matter. What we must seek out is what are the Loving alternatives to the unloving attitudes we harbor? THAT is what we submit to! That’s how we turn from sin and turn towards God.

In the book of Hebrews verse 10:19-24.We read:

“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”

Yes! Because Jesus rose from the grave to live in and with God the Father, we who receive the living Spirit of Truth in and of Jesus, have been given the privilege and blessing to know Jesus and the Love of the Father in and from Jesus.

If…you walk in the Way!!!

If not, if you are indeed born-again and have the Holy Spirit, but have no knowledge of the Way , you will still be saved. But only as one escaping through the flames!

(I Cor. 3:10-15niv) “By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.”

There are many Evangelists that use television to reach their audience outside of the packed coliseum they are using to host the meeting. Trying to teach you How to Walk like a Christian…when all they are really doing is telling you How to ACT like a Christian!  They are not even aware of the Way of Jesus.

Do you know the Way? Are you in “Remembrance” of “Acknowledged” Truth and Gods Agape Love?

Have you understood your freedom to choose whether to submit to live in the transformation of God’s Love found in your walk in the Way in and of Jesus…Or are you still using the tried and proven way you have been able to repent of that, only to cause harm. Yes, we are told of the need to change and what to change into but not how to do it other than to lie to yourself and ACT how Jesus would have acted. ITS NOT AN ACT.
It’s a transformation of attitude based on the submitting of our way to be one with His Way in the Agape Love revealed by the Holy Spirit as we walk in the Way of Repentance that now becomes unto us a solid foundation in the “remembered” Truth in the gospel.

And of the Way…it is given understanding in God’s time as long as you are still striving to find the answers of Truth in your continued effort of walking in the Way of love and truth found in your continued repentance of the sin that so easily besets us. So you will still have to Move yourself to walk in the Way.

But then that’s written in another article of teaching you HOW to do it.

In Him,

One Comment
  1. I too went through a phase of poetic creativity, but learned that poems … like songs touch upon the feelings of Hope being established but found that they are also very inadequate for the sharing of the Way of Jesus. Unless its a poem of the teaching itself. But that’s better said with scripture and words of understanding. It is much too literal to make into a poem though and I discourage it. But Like I said If you walk along the Way we do discover the growth of creativity. I hope that this poet does more with his repentance and soon discovers the Way. As expressed in Isaiah 30:21. and see that teaching others how to properly repent and choose to walk in the Way of Love in Truth no matter which path we choose to walk. In Him, J.J.
